Diet
“We firmly believe in feeding a diet which will benefit the whole body.”
Here at Bellvalley we take great care in choosing the best nutrition for our dogs; after all you are what you eat!

PRT's, like all dogs, are descendants of the wolf and although now they may look and behave differently their digestive system has changed very little. In the wild, wolves live off prey, often eating the whole carcass. This is why we feed our dogs biologically appropriate food.
This means that our dogs' diet consists of high protein meat and minimal carbohydrates, with no artificial chemicals, colourings, fillers or flavourings.

We prefer to feed a raw/fresh diet complemented with fresh fruit and veg. In the summer months frozen goats yoghurt cubes are a particular favourite.
All our dogs are given natural, healthy treats to keep the entertained and stimulated. Such treats include hooves, tripe sticks, raw bones, chicken wings, rabbit ears and dried fish sticks.

We expect new owners to take on board our ethos and continue the natural diet we start with our puppies here at Bellvalley.

A great book to get you started on the benefits of a natural diet with lots of helpful tips and tricks can be found in Honey's Natural Feeding Handbook for Dogs by Jonathan Self.
