Croeso / Welcome

Hello — we’re Gareth and Laura, and we’d like to warmly welcome you to Bellvalley.

As a family, we have been showing and breeding dogs for over 25 years, spanning two generations. The Bellvalley affix, granted in 2000, takes its name from the Welsh name of our home — and as you can see from the photo below, we truly are surrounded by a sea of bluebells every spring.

We have been involved with Beagles for longer than we can remember. Gareth has achieved some of the highest placings in the show ring, including Best Beagle Puppy at Crufts two years running, and we proudly made up our first Champion in 2018 — CH Bellvalley Teen Spirit.

We were long-standing members of the Kennel Club Assured Breeder Scheme until the scheme was discontinued on 31 December 2024. We continue to uphold the same high standards of care, health testing, and transparency that the scheme represented, and remain fully licensed breeders with Carmarthenshire County Council.

As a farming family, terriers have always been part of our lives. In 2018 we decided to take our passion for the breed more seriously and welcomed our first KC Registered Parson Russell Terrier bitch, Digaden Full of Beans (Hattie), in early 2019.

Hattie produced her first litter to CH Heythrop Task Master at Alncroft in December 2021, and from that litter we kept two of her daughters — Bellvalley’s Kissed by Fire (Helga) and Bellvalley’s Full of Fire (Igrid).

We are immensely proud to have now made up two Champions in the breed:

  • CH Bellvalley's Kissed by Fire (Helga) — winner of 8 CCs, 6 RCCs, and 8 Best Puppy in Breed titles.

  • CH Bellvalley's Savage Love (Yen) — winner of 3 CCs, 1 RCC, and Best of Breed at Blackpool 2024, Three Counties 2025, and Blackpool 2025.

In September 2024, we were delighted to welcome our daughter, who is already following in the family footsteps with her love of dogs. She plays an important role in socialising our puppies and helping them become confident, well-adjusted members of a busy household. Pictured below one Yen meeting baby Dilys for the first time.
