AKA Maddie
Maddie's parents are Bellvalley Trouble and Bellvalley Maddock, she born in 2015. Maddie is such a sweetheart and is very intelligent; she just loves to try new things. Right from the start she has been a show-off and has proven to enjoy strutting around a show ring. At her very first show, Llanelli and District Canine Society Open Show, she won Best Puppy In Breed and won the Hound Puppy Group.
Maddie's cheeky and confident character makes her the perfect little companion and a brilliant pupil of Clicker Training. She regularly attends dog training classes where she will have a go at anything, including pinching people's biscuits!
Maddie even features in her own training videos! As you can guess, here at Bellvalley we are passionate about ensuring our puppies get a good education. That's why we make a few short training videos to help new puppy owners with important training lessons.
Maddie has now qualified for Crufts 2017!
Maddie demonstrating one of the methods we use to train our dogs to stack (stand at shows).
This method uses a raised block, called a platform, to show the dog where to stand. The platform encourages the dogs to stay still and stand squarely. Once the dog has had enough practice with the platform you can just remove it and the dog will line up to your hand.
Maddie has also been trained to put her chin in her handler's hand to encourage her to stretch the full length of her neck and to prevent her from pulling away from her handler. We have found this method enhances their show stance.
